Careers in Journalism
TELEVISION
TV and video journalists film and edit news and broadcast reports, making and presenting informative TV shows (live and recorded), using cameras, microphones, video editing applications, audio and video mixers, broadcast software.
PRINT & ONLINE NEWS
Writers and editors document news stories in the field and in the newsroom, participate in public and press events, write and edit journalistic articles – news, features, reports, interviews, published in newspapers, magazines and online publications.
RADIO
Radio journalists record and edit radio news and features, produce and present radio shows (live and recorded) and podcasts, using microphones, tape recorders, audio editing applications, audio mixers and broadcasting software.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photojournalists take press photos, event photos, studio photos and illustration photos in formats suitable for publication in newspapers, magazines and online distribution, using professional cameras, mobile devices, photo editing apps and image archiving systems.
INVESTIGATION
Investigative reporters document news stories in the field and in the office, participate in public and press events, write and edit journalistic articles – news, features, reports, interviews, published in newspapers, magazines and online publications.
MEDIA RELATIONS
Spokespersons manage an institution’s communication with the press and the public, prepares press releases and press kits, organises press conferences, prepares and delivers public speeches, manages the presence on various media channels and the organisation’s public image in general.
